Hi, I’m Nadia!

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 106491)
Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist
EFT Supervisor Candidate

I offer trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples, helping them navigate stress, build stronger connections, and find paths to personal and relational growth.

As a Puerto Rican and Mexican woman of color, I bring a social justice and anti-oppression lens to therapy, prioritizing a culturally humble approach. We'll explore how your individual identities and core values connect within your relationships.

My clients are couples going through significant life changes, those who are seeking to repair their bond and rebuild trust, or navigating the complexities of intercultural relationships. You might be struggling with communication barriers, conflicting values, or unresolved hurts that have created distance and misunderstanding. You want to strengthen their partnership, learn to see each other more clearly, and foster a secure and loving connection.

I work with adults who feel overwhelmed by the weight of past trauma, ongoing stress, or burnout from their personal or professional life. You may have tried to cope on their own, but now realize you need support in processing your experiences and finding sustainable ways to manage your emotional and mental well-being. You want to feel understood, safe, and heard without judgment.

My clients are motivated by the hope of living a more fulfilled and connected life. You are ready to invest in your growth, explore new perspectives, and embrace the changes needed to achieve your goals.

Who I work with

How I work

In therapy, you can expect a compassionate and supportive environment where we will work together to understand and heal the impacts of trauma, stress, and burnout. I incorporate Emotionally Focused Couples & Individual Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), E.M.D.R., and mindfulness as foundational approaches in our sessions.

For Couples:

EFT is about getting to the heart of what drives your interactions—looking beneath the arguments and misunderstandings to understand what’s really going on emotionally. Here’s a sense of what that process will look like:

  • Understanding Your Patterns Together: Every couple has patterns, the ways you both react and respond to each other. Sometimes, those patterns can become a cycle that feels impossible to break—one person’s reaction triggers the other, and you end up feeling stuck or distant. In therapy, we’ll take a close look at these cycles and learn to slow things down. By doing this, you’ll be able to see these patterns for what they are and, together, start breaking them.

  • Finding the Deeper Feelings and Needs Underneath: Often, conflicts arise from deeply held emotions and unspoken needs, like wanting to feel secure, valued, or truly seen by your partner. EFT helps you both connect to these underlying feelings and needs that may not be obvious in the heat of an argument. As you learn to recognize and express these vulnerable feelings, you’ll begin to connect in a way that feels safe and authentic, building empathy and understanding instead of defensiveness and frustration.

  • Strengthening Your Emotional Bond: As we work through these emotions and needs, the focus is on helping you both feel more secure in your relationship. EFT is all about creating a safe space where you can share openly and feel supported. Here, you can express your needs and feel heard without worry about judgment or rejection. The goal is to help you both feel closer, more trusting, and more connected.

  • Creating New Patterns for the Future: As you practice these new ways of connecting, EFT helps you build healthier interaction patterns that you can rely on long after therapy. You’ll leave with tools to communicate with more compassion and clarity, even during tough times, so you can navigate challenges together instead of feeling alone or in conflict.

For Individuals:

IFS, EFIT, and EMDR offer an integrative way of exploring and healing the different 'parts' within you. Think of these parts as various aspects of your personality, each with its own emotions, beliefs, and roles. Some parts may carry the burdens of past trauma, while others might be working hard to protect you from further hurt.

In our work together, we’ll create a safe and compassionate space to meet these parts with curiosity and understanding, honoring their needs and the roles they play in your life. With EMDR, we can also engage in targeted processing of traumatic memories or experiences that keep certain parts stuck in old patterns, helping to unburden them and free you from emotional distress tied to the past.

As you connect with your inner parts and reprocess painful memories, you can begin to heal past wounds, release burdens, and cultivate a more integrated sense of self. Together, we’ll work to strengthen the core of who you are, allowing you to navigate life with greater resilience, connection, and self-compassion.

These approaches recognize that the challenges you’re facing don’t define you—they’re responses to what you’ve been through. EMDR provides a structured yet adaptive way to reprocess these experiences, while IFS and EFIT help us explore and nurture your inner world. This work is collaborative and empowering, helping you reconnect with your authentic self at your own pace, in a space where you’ll feel seen and heard.

You’ll gain tools to navigate your inner world, shift long-standing patterns, and move toward the life and relationships you desire. Mindfulness techniques will also support you in staying grounded and present, enabling you to connect more deeply with yourself and the process. This isn’t just about “staying calm”—it’s about cultivating the clarity and insight you need to understand what’s happening inside.

You don't have to go through this alone.
